3 The rosette detail at the center of the cross represents the ***Heart of the Father who gave his Son for us all
** "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed" 1 Peter 2: 24
This  Gothic Cross has become my signature piece. I have made these in different woods for a number of people in ministry and for friends  and family as well. The design reflects a number of theological and scriptural meanings. These pictures show crosses in Oak, Cherry and Maple, each with Walnut trim.
*  "because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors "   ISAIAH 53: 12b
2 * The slim walnut strips represent the "stripes" of Christ that he endured from Pontius Pilot.  **The four walnut  pieces at the feet, hands and head of the cross represent the wounds of Christ .
The Cross of Christ
1. There are  3 sections at each of the  four "branches" of the cross for a total of twelve.   This represents a link between the Old and New Testaments as there were Twelve Tribes of Israel and Twelve  Apostles of Christ.
