I am making a pair of Sheet Music Cabinets. They will be near replicas of the cabinet shown here.

 Materials and constructions details:
Frame:Sapele. Side Panels -Anigre veneer with Sapele diamond inlay. Drawer front and Door Panel-Maple veneer with Sapele and Maple Diamond inlay.
Finish- Flat Black Oil paint-Shellac top coat.
The first task was to cut out and sculpt the 8 legs. I didn't take any pictures of this process because I was too busy but I did get this "Spiderman" shot of the legs all ready to be glued up:
Many steps later, the frame is glued together including the side panels with dados cut for the shelves. The shelves are set in temporarily.
Each shelf is cut to fit it's assigned slot. I marked each shelf , then removed them to apply the shellac finish. They will be reset after the shellac finish dries.
I shellacked the insides of the cabinet and all the shelves. While the shellac finish is setting, I began gluing in the first of many trim pieces for the cabinets.
Here I am gluing in the vertical pieces that cover the exposed plywood edges. As with all the trim pieces in these cabinets, I painted them before they were glued in place.
Now the shelves are set back in place and the horizontal  set of trim pieces are glued to the shelves.
I made up the four side panels. These are Anigre veneer with Sapele diamond inlays. I applied a coat of shellac over the surface except for a 1/2"  border where the  black trim pieces will be glued.
The side panels are glued to the inside structure then have black round over trim glued to their perimeter.
A bit of glues oozes out but will be removed before the frame work is Ebonised.
After the panels and trim were glued in,...  the outer framework is coated with filler, then sanded smooth and the finish applied-first a coat of shellac which is sanded back then the first coat of flat black.
The flat black stain will get sanded back and further coats applied each one sanded smooth till the proper build up. Then several coats of clear shellac applied, each of these also sanded and buffed to a smooth finish.
